Farm Experience and Farm Day
During their time at Sonnwies, children experience up close the tasks with animals in the midst of nature. Help feed and care for our special breeds of animals. Learn playfully the daily routine on our farm, at the foot of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dolomites. A special highlight is the weekly Farm Day where families get to know typical South Tyrolean traditions and immerse themselves in the times of yesteryear.
Special attention is paid to raising children's awareness of nature and animals. At Sonnwies, families playfully learn about the daily routine on the in-house farm, come into close contact with different breeds of animals and actively help out.
- Experience Sonnwies Farm: Guided tour of the farm, feeding the animals, mucking out the barn, daily egg hunt, animal sponsorship, pony riding, tractor driving, hay hopping, and much more
- Painting in the great outdoors, building a dam in a private forest, nature treasure hunt and crafting with natural materials
A true experience is our weekly Farm Day, where we make time-honored South Tyrolean traditions come alive for the whole family. In addition to creative and fun experiences, all kinds of culinary highlights are also on the program: stirring fresh farm butter, preparing Kaiserschmarrn and roasting chestnuts.

It is a matter of the heart of the Sonnwies kitchen team to provide numerous moments of pleasure for young and old. The Family Nature Culinary is included during the stay for the whole family and offers morning, noon and evening seasonal and regional dishes. Special culinary requests for babies and children are lovingly taken into account. The farm-to-table philosophy, with the in-house, 1,200m², Culinary Garden, as a supplier for our kitchen, is to be emphasized. Gardener Monika gives, during weekly garden tours, insights into the wonderful world of the garden and explains which fruits are harvested in autumn.
